Defence Financial Management Course Underway
Guwahati, Feb 10 (HS): A week-long Defence Financial Management Course (DFMC) jointly organised by Controller of Defence Account (CDA), Guwahati and the Army is underway at Narangi Military Station. The course was inaugurated by Mr J Lhungdim, IDAS Additional Controller of Defence Account in presence of other senior officers of CDA Guwahati and Deputy GOC 51 Sub Area Brig AK Pandey.
A total of 28 mid-level officers of the Army drawn from a various location across the Northeast are attending the course which is designed to educate the officers with the various facets of financial expenditure, accounting and auditing in the organisation. CDA is responsible for accounting, auditing of all financial expenditures of the Defence Ministry and also serve as financial advisor to the defence forces at various formation Headquarters.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the course Mr J Lhungdim mentioned that the officers should be aware of the proper utilisation of various funds allotted to the units and also the requirement of cordial relationship between the forces and CDA staff at all level for effective utilisation of all the budgetary allotment made to the defence forces.

He cited various incidents wherein personal meetings and an open discussion had led to the effective management of the expenditures on time so that the rush at the financial year-end is avoided. The inaugural session was also attended by Mr RN Biswas, CDA Guwahati.
