A 3-day ACS chemistry festival celebrated at SHUATS

Prayagraj: A three days American Chemical Society (ACS) Chemistry Festival was celebrated by the Pharmacy department of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Prayagraj.

Theme of this year’s celebration was ‘Magical Chemistry’. The objective of this event was to encourage the chemistry amongst the youth generation and school students.

Faculty Advisor of ACS International Student Chapter and Coordinator of the event Prof Amita Verma elaborated the theme and explained the importance of chemistry in our everyday life.

Small children from different schools were exposed to funny chemistry experiments as lava lamp, color change, dancing spaghetti, mystical cloud etc and participated in various competitions.

Program was concluded with the announcement of winners and prize distribution ceremony.

Tanmay Singh, Mudita Singh, Tejas Verma, Anjali Singh received First prize in Quiz competition. Other winners were Raman Singh, Sidharth, Jatin, Sakshi, Anees, Gaurav, Anjali, Ayan, Hussain, Hassan, Afan Khan. Students from 6 different schools participated in the celebration.

SHUATS Pro Vice Chancellor (AA &QA) Prof AKA Lawrence, Faculty Dean Dr Shekhar and Associate Dean Prof P Malairajan applauded the celebration.

Event was coordinated by Mr.Vinay Yadav, Shan Patel and volunteers Abhayanand Patel, Gaurav Shukla, Subhash Patel, Prateek Keservani, Avnikant Singh, Amit Keshari. Dr Danish, Dr Pankaj, Dr Vikas Kumar, Dr Ekta, Mr Anup Masih, Mr. Ibrahim, Mr. Shankar, Mr. Somjeet, Mr. Pradeep constructively systemized the event.
