In the last few years, the agenda to defame India as an Islamophobic country has been the regular practice from some non-Indian Muslims across the globe, especially among Gulf countries. Recently, after the incident of Markaz clerics go into hiding and avoid screening of coronavirus infection the international plot to defame India rose to a new level.

The Delhi Minority Commission Chairman Zafarul Islam Khan created a clear message for the gulf countries. He tweeted “Mind you, bigots, Indian Muslims have opted until now not to complain to the Arab and Muslim world about your hate campaigns on lynchings and riots. The day they are pushed to do that, bigots will face an avalanche.” This has raised a political storm. The new battlefield has thus been created on social media platforms.

What was the complete issue: After the Delhi Nizamuddin Markaz incident many from overseas countries including Gulf countries started writing and posting on social media about it. Some of the tweets of them were inappropriate and communal on which UAE princess Hend Al Quassimi took strict action, after which UAE government started expelling Indian who wrote communal posts, after that, Organization of Islamic Countries which is a group of 57 countries, showed anger over alleged communalisation due to corona pandemic in India. To control the damage, Indian ambassador Pawan Kapoor in the UAE gave clarification to the government there and appealed to people living in the UAE not to post over the matter.
Agenda To Defame India: In this complete issue, many “hate India element” tried to make this matter embarrassing to India. Many tweets came from the fake account of Oman princess to poster India as Islamophobic country and many fake twitter accounts were created to add fuel to this fire. To clarify this, the spokesperson of Oman government tweeted, in which he cleared that account from which tweet was posted is fake. Many anti-India agenda pursuers in India tried to make an image of India as communal. Many international media also started to cover this story and tried to label India as Islamophobic.
Narendra Modi’s damage control: Prime Minister Narendra Modi also joined this twitter battle and tweeted that coronavirus is not infecting people communally we have to fight against this unitedly. Narendra Modi has a reputation among gulf countries. Many Gulf countries have given their highest civilian honor. Saudi Arab gave “The King Abdulaziz Shah”. UAE gave “Order Of Zayad”. Bahrain gave “The King Hamad Order of The Renaissance”. India has a cordial relationship with Gulf countries. Since many issues need to be addressed and amendments to be made, the Indian government and the Indian media should be watchful for future barbs.
