Banks are proposed to close for 5 consecutive days in March. You may find ATMs cash less.
New Delhi, Feb 08 (HS): A two-day bank strike was proposed on 31 January and 1 February. Recent news is that employees of government banks may go on strike once again.
According to the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) and All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), there is likely to be another bank strike for 3 consecutive days between 11 March and 13 March. As the negotiations with the India Bank Association (IBA) on the demand to increase the salary of bank employees have not been successful.
Therefore in the second week of March, ATMs and Banking Services can be gravely affected for 5 consecutive days as the 14th of March is the second Saturday and 15th is a Sunday. Therefore, the common man may face a cash crunch and banking delay. Private sector banks will function normally.
