Case filed against an institute for staging a drama against CAA
Bidar, Feb 05(HS): A case has been registered against Shaheen Institute in Bidar, Karnataka under several sections. The institute is accused of staging a drama against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
Institute CEO Tausif Madikeri said that the police have registered a case under sections 124A, 505 and 504 of the IPC on charges of staging plays against CAA and NRC. Madikeri said that this incident is beyond imagination. He said that the deputy SP comes into the class and interrogates the students.
On the other hand, Karnataka Home Minister Basavrao Bommai said that whatever action has been taken, it has been done under the law. This is a very serious and sensitive issue. The government is collecting more information on this matter.
