Government’s campaign praised for supporting traditional industries
RK Jain, former Secretary, Western UP Chamber and Commerce, says that the situation in the industrial sector has seen a change in the state from 2017 onwards. Especially the campaign launched by the state government regarding the traditional industries is praiseworthy. The government is also addressing the problems of entrepreneurs, which has increased the production of traditional industries district-wise. For example, the wood carving industry in Saharanpur has been working for a long time, they needed training. Now training is being provided by the government. This will improve their products and make better products in less time.
UP had a different identity in the world
UP had a distinct identity in the industry in the period of 60s and 70s. In the state from the industrial point of view, Kanpur and Muzaffarnagar had the maximum growth rate in comparison to many other districts, but in the changing times, the status of UP has deteriorated and the industries started to lock up. In such a situation, due to government neglect of traditional industries, the situation became worse. While the products of different districts of UP were also in good demand abroad. From time to time, industry organizations used to convey their requirement to the government, but their solution was rarely seen on the ground.
