Cops hit us in our private parts Says Jamia students: Students; police says “NO”
New Delhi, Feb 10 (HS): As many as 10 students of Jamia Millia University have been reportedly admitted to the Jamia Health Centre for injuries in their “private parts”. They were among others who participated in an anti-CAA march towards Parliament here on Monday. According to DCP South-east, R P Meena, “No such incident has come to our knowledge. But if there are some complaints, we will initiate an inquiry into the incident.” The resident doctors at the health centre said that some of the students had been shifted to another hospital Al-Shifa hospital. Doctors further said that more than 10 girl students have been hit on their private parts.
According to an eyewitness, the students were allowed to protest peacefully against the CAA law. But when they went violent, they were stopped by the security forces following which the students tried to break the barricade put by the Delhi police. According to a student leader, “it is a normal process during agitation. People agitate, police put barricades, warns not to violate laws by breaking barricades. Agitators do it, followed by water canning, lathi charge, court arrest from police end, to disperse the mob.” Hindusthan Samachar/Manish
