Defrauding people with foreign job offer in UP, 3 held Phones of the accused were also switched off

Gorakhpur: Three men were detained here on Friday for allegedly scamming others by promising to take them abroad for work. According to police, 63 passports, one laptop, two motorbikes, six mobile phones, two PAN cards, two ATM cards, a business card, and a shopping card were retrieved from their possession.

“Some youths had complained to the authorities about being scammed by persons at Sky Travels in the Khorabar region who promised them jobs overseas. They said Sky Travels seized their passports and money and offered them a visa, offer letter, and an airline ticket,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover.When the victims arrived at the airport, they discovered that their tickets had been revoked, and when they proceeded to the Sky Travels office, it was closed. The accused’s cellphones were also turned off, according to the SSP. 

Two police teams formed to look into the situation discovered that after closing the Sky Travel business, the suspects built another office in the Pipraich region under the name Star Travels and began duping people there, he added. Khurshid Ansari and Jameel Khan of Deoria, as well as Dinesh Paswan of Siddharthnagar, were identified as the accused.

“During interrogation, the accused told police that two more persons were engaged in the scam and that police will arrest them soon,” stated the SSP.There are only 12 government-approved agents /agencies in the nation, and their names are recorded in the Indian government’s and the Ministry of External Affairs’ official immigration webpage, according to the SSP, who advises people to use their services rather than fall victim to fraudsters.
