Dramatic presentation of Ekta Sanstha: The spirit of patriotism sacrificed the wedding saree.
Manish Kapoor.
Prayagraj. Only the work done in the interest of the country with selflessness and full devotion is called true patriotism. Where there is neither concern for life, nor greed for money, nor worry about good or bad omen. The passion to drive away the British from the country is at the forefront. In this passion, Kunwar Ratan Singh even sacrifices his wife’s wedding saree in the havan of foreign objects. Because that saree is foreign. A similar scene was seen on Sunday in the drama presentation “Suhaag Ki Saree” written by Munshi Premchand by the cultural organization Ekta at Kala Bhawan, North Central Region Cultural Centre.

The play “Suhaag Ki Sari” was based on the boycott movement of foreign goods that was being run during the independence movement. An attempt was made in the play to show that any kind of beliefs have no meaning in front of principles and principles. Story of the play The story revolves around village landlord Kunwar Ratan Singh and his wife Gaura. Ratan Singh is leading the movement to boycott foreign goods. He is very ambitious and principled. One day the people of the Boycott of Foreign Goods movement planned to sacrifice foreign goods in front of Ratan Singh’s house. They all ask Ratan Singh to burn the foreign goods. Ratan Singh’s wife Gaura has different views. He believes that Swaraj will not be achieved by burning his house. But Ratan Singh is firm on his principles. She believes that even a single thread from abroad will break her vow. Despite her husband’s insistence, Gaura gives all the things kept in the house but refuses to give a silk saree. Because this saree belongs to her husband. Ratan Singh says that I do not believe in any belief more than that of the country. I cannot give auspicious place to foreign goods. I cannot keep this unholy memento of a sacred ritual at home. First of all I will gift Holi to this person. How will I observe the Swadeshi fast by keeping foreign clothes at home? Impressed by such words of her husband, Gaura finally gives her saree saying that I cannot trouble your soul due to the fear of bad luck. She gives her wedding saree to her husband for burning. This scene It left the audience emotional.
