Educational Tour by students of Hamidiya college
Batohi.
Prayagraj. Kaushambi, 54 kms away from Allahabad, was visited by Students of Ancient History Department and Persian Department and B.Voc.students. Students were to gather at College Principal Prof. Naseha Usmani wished all the students best and safe journey.The academic tour was organised and led by Dr. Nasreen Begum.The tour was aimed keeping in mind the opportunities for the students to explore and experience practically what they have learned in the classroom. It was designed to enhance students’ understanding of the heritage of Indian Culture.

We started our journey at 9:30 o’clock with Shamim Bus Service and reached at 11:30 AM at the location.

After that all students along with faculty members of B.Voc. Ms Tazeen Fatma, Mrs Huma Marvee, Dr. Monisha Gupra and Dr.Shabana Aziz of Persian Department were taken to the Ashokan Pillar site, Ghoshitaram, and Udyan Palace site. Dr. Nasreen Begum addressed the students and told them about the historical and archaeological importance of the site. She informed them that
Buddha in the 6th and 9th years after his enlightenment delivered several sermons here, elevating it to a centre of learning for Buddhists. Today one can see the ruins of an Ashokan Pillar, Fortification Wall, an old fort of King Udyan and the Ghositaram Monastery. She also told the students that the archaeological excavations here have yielded a large number of sculptures and figurines, coins, punch-marked and cast coins and terracotta sculptures which show the reverence the city was held in by the devout, in times gone by.
All these religious finds of historical and archaeological importance can be viewed at the Allahabad Museum and Museum of Ancient History Department of University of Allahabad.

It was a new, interesting and informative experience for all of us. We visited the Yamuna river spot beside the Fort as
well. Students and all the faculty members took their delicious lunch in the fort. All the students enjoyed by singing. Then, we took group photographs.

We departed at 3:00 PM form there to our College and reached at 4:45 pm.We all had safe and enjoyable journey with lots of information.
The trip encouraged critical thinking, curiosity, and a spirit of inquiry among students, fostering a lifelong love for learning.
The educational field trip also provided a platform for interdisciplinary learning, as students from different departments shared their perspectives and insights on the heritage of our culture observed during the visit.
