Can anyone match the exuberance and innocence of children? Ever ready to celebrate the infinite promise children represent, St. Joseph’s College, Prayagraj organised a special assembly to honour the love, India ‘s first Prime Minister, Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru, had for children on November 14, 2024.14th November,a day celebrated all across the nation to not just remember Pt.Nehru on his birth anniversary, but also bring smiles aplenty to children through various programmes, is rightly known as Children’s Day.
The event began with Mrs. M. D’Souza greeting and wishing the students, besides highlighting the significance of Children’s Day and Pandit Nehru’s love for children. She emphasised that children are the future of the nation and should be nurtured with care and affection.

The recitation of a select passage from the Holy Bible and a special prayer for the well-being gave way to a prayer song sung by the Staff Choir. A special prayer was then recited by Mrs. M. D’Cruz for the students. Dr.(Mrs).S.Sebastian in a short yet touching message, to the students, brought alive the importance of school life in the entire career of a person.
A beautiful poem recited by Mrs.C.Wesley which struck a chord with each and everyone was followed by a melodious song by Mr.N.B.Lawrence. Needless to say, the students, infact the entire gathering enjoyed both the performances.
In his address, the Principal Rev. Fr. Walter D’Silva wished the students, encouraging the students to embrace their uniqueness and work for the fulfillment of their goals in life. He also exhorted them to remember that teachers are like their second parents and that they are always their greatest well-wishers.
The programme came to an end with the College Anthem.
