Final touches being given to freight corridor from New Bhaupur to New DDUIn EDFC’s Prayagraj unit, 355 km section out of 417 km section operational

PRAYAGRAJ: Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor which is 1856 km from Ludhiana in Punjab to Dankuni in West Bengal. Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor passes through Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal. Coal mines, thermal power plants and industrial cities are located along the route of the freight corridor. Work of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor is almost completed in Uttar Pradesh. EDFC is divided into several sections, out of which the largest section of EDFC is Prayagraj Unit’s New Bhaupur station (located in Kanpur Dehat district) to New Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar station. Till now the work of freight corridor is almost completed from New Bhaupur to New Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay station which is a distance of 417 km in which trains are running on 355 km track some work is left between New Kanpur to New Bhaupur station whose distance is The track work is 20 kilometers, in which electrical work and signaling work is in progress, efforts are being made to open it at the end of February and the distance from New Chunar station (which comes in Mirzapur district) to New DDU. The track work is 35 km, in this also the electrical work and signaling work is in vogue. Omprakash Chief General Manager East said, “Prayagraj unit is of 417 km, in which trains are running on 355 km, some work is left from Chunar to New DDU, which is 35 kilometers away, track work is completed, electrical and singling work is in progress. Anurag Yadav General Manager West said, “Prayagraj unit is of 417 kilometers, in which trains are running on 355 kilometers, some work is left. There is a bridge left between New Kanpur and New Bhaupur, which is 20 kilometers away, in which track work has been completed, signaling and electrical work is in progress, that work will also be completed by the end of this month.”
