India news : All adults above 60 years of age can get Covid-19 precaution doses from tomorrow

Every 60 year old and above can now get Covid-19 precaution dose.

Till today only those senior citizens having any form of serious ailments were considered for the third shot, to help boost the immunity which naturally reduces after the first two shots of Covid vaccines over a period of time.

In the fight against the Covid -19 pandemic a major step has been taken as the Center will be vaccinating all adults above the age of 60 with precaution dose starting from tomorrow. The Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed this to the media.  

On the other hand the government Center expands the vaccine drive by including children between the age group of 12-14 who are to be vaccinated next.  For the adolescents Biological E’s Corbevax will be administered.

The pandemic fears are still alive as reports come in from China as fresh outbreak of infection in the city of Shanghai and Shenzhen has been reported where strict lock down measures has been taken.

Precaution dose also known as the booster dose in other countries is being administered to all frontline workers and senior citizens with co-morbidities presently. However no doctors certificate was required. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi announced this in a special address.

Precaution dose that is the third dose will be of the same composition and brand as the earlier two doses.
