Indian Fashion Industry has a worldwide presence – Mr. Kushal Kumar

June-5, 2023: – Mr. Kushal Kumar and Mrs. Poorti Kumar, CEOs of Paridhi Creation, New Delhi, inaugurated the Annual Garment Presentation-2023 organized by Ruchi’s Institute of Creative Arts. While addressing the students Mr. Kushal Kumar, an alumina of the Institute said that it was a great honor to be inaugurating a function of which he himself was a part of 25 years ago.

He highlighted that the Indian Fashion Industry has a worldwide presence and there are various career options in this field. Mrs. Poorti Kumar appreciated the dresses designed by the students and said that these designs were at par with the recent fashion trends and comparable with the international market.

Dr. Harish Jaiswal, while addressing the students said that he has been seeing the presentations made by the students of Ruchi’s Institute of Creative Arts for the last 20 years and each year the work and designs of the students surpasses the previous year.

He congratulated the RICA staff for guiding the students well and playing a vital role in the skill development field and providing high class training and job opportunities.

Dr. Ruchi Mital, Principal of the Institute, welcomed and greeted all the honorable guests. She highlighted that this was the 30th Garment Presentation being organized by the Institute.

Explaining the nuances of the costumes designed, fabricated, and presented by the students themselves, she said that the presentation was part of the course curriculum, and was organized to encourage students to speak about their creations in a creative manner.
The program began with attractive designer net gowns with frills and gathering, followed by a presentation of saree draped in different styles. Wrap-a-round skirts inspired by the Bhutanese national dress, Kira & Gho, were designed to suit the climate of Uttar Pradesh. Students walked the ramp wearing the adapted Kira & Gho made of cotton fabric with screen printed floral patterns and made a stunning appearance with handmade jewellery.

Depicting an amalgamation of two cultures students walked the ramp wearing a sharara dress along with netted accessories. White satin pants with velvet crop-tops and printed net fabric shrugs were applauded by the audience.
Dark peach colored Naira suit with palazzos and pants perfectly suited for the Indian summer were much appreciated. White satin fabric midis with smocking and shearing exhibited the creative designing ability of the students.
The art of joining cloth pieces and creating beautiful fabrics is called fabric piecing. It is much in vogue now as it helps in promoting sustainable fashion, solving environmental issues and propagates the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle policy.
Students presented their sustainable designs by walking the ramp in long skirts.
More than 100 designs were presented by the students in a one-hour show. In the end Mr. Devendra Pandey proposed a vote of thanks. The program was compered by Angel Sahu, the stage was managed by Priyanka Sharma, choreography was directed by Sunil Pandey and stage decoration was done by Radhey Shyam, Neeraj, Ram Sajeevan and Pradeep Singh. Present amongst the guest gathering were Dr. Purnima Singh, Padma Singh, Mrs Beena Jaiswal, Shri Shivesh Dhar Tripathi, Mr. Sanjay Kala, Dr. Anil Mishra, Manish kapoor & many more.
