Appointments letters to 3313 assistant teachers Merit is only criteria for jobs in the state : CM Yogi
Lucknow, Oct 23 ,20202. Asserting that merit is the only criteria for jobs in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji has said that fairness and transparency in recruitment now remains the hallmark of his government. There is no scope left for any irregularity in the recruitment process in the state and even in spite of this, if some corruption is found in the process, the jail is the only destination for the guilty, he said while addressing a virtual function on the occasion of distribution of appointment and posting letters to the newly appointed assistant teachers. He reiterated that the transparency with which the appointments have been done is a proof of the government’s commitment towards free and fair process towards the appointments. Recalling the corruption in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) during the previous regime of the state when appointments were made only on the basis of caste and religion the CM said that gone are the days and now merit is the only consideration for the jobs. “In today’s times, everyone needs to be technically updated as technique is the key to transparency. If the government lags behind in technology, it will be impossible to extend the benefits of pension, Kisan Samman Nidhi and other allowances to people in these tough times of corona. The way online education is being carried out online, it could not have been possible if we were not technically updated,” he said. Youths are an asset to the state and the government and they are being given opportunities on their merits. It is only on the basis of merit that we gave government jobs to 3.5 Lakh youths and we are also in the process to give jobs to an equal number of youths, he asserted. The CM also took the opportunity to speak with some of the newly appointed assistant teachers Jagmohan Singh, Nikhat Pravin, Hemprabha Ojha, Smita Jaiswal, Manish Kumar Mishra, Manisha Thapliyal and Jyoti Gaur. Playing guide and guardian to them, the CM said that teachers are guides to the children and thus, their responsibility increases manifold. “If a teacher imparts education with passion and energy, his students will have the ability to bring a positive change in the society. Because of his profession, a teacher is not only respectable to his students but also in the society. The secondary teachers selected through UPPSC namely Jyoti Sharma ( Barabanki), Akhlaq( Barabanki), Sandeep Singh (Prayagraj), Kirti Verma ( Lucknow) and Sumitra Devi ( Ayodhya) were privileged ones to receive appointment letters from CM’s hands. Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma said that the regularisation of educational sessions, exams on and results on time and exams without copying have been some of the achievements of Yogi government in the field of secondary and higher education.
