MP criminal killed in UP police encounter

Jaunpur, 16 Mar (HS): According to the Uttar Pradesh Police, a notorious criminal from Madhya Pradesh was killed in an encounter here on Thursday during a joint operation with the Satna police. Anand Sagar was a member of the Subhash Yadav gang, which is active in Jaunpur, Azamgarh, Varanasi, and Madhya Pradesh’s Satna, according to police records. Officials said the incident occurred on the Jaunpur-Lucknow road near the Aliganj market in the Baksha police station area on Thursday morning.

According to Police Superintendent Ajay Pal Sharma, Sagar killed a person in Satna 10 days ago, stole Rs 15 lakhs, and fled to Jaunpur. He claimed that the police had been looking for him ever since. The Satna Police informed the Uttar Pradesh Police in the Jaunpur district about Sagar’s whereabouts, prompting a search operation. According to the police official, the encounter happened during the combing operation on Thursday morning. According to Sagar, he was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
