Nazareth Hospital Celebrates 49th Foundation Day with Cultural Grandeur

Maha Kumbh Resounds on the Stage of Nazareth Hospital.


Prayagraj, December 8, 2024. Nazareth Hospital celebrated its 49th Foundation Day with a vibrant cultural program in the presence of a distinguished gathering of dignitaries. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice Saurabh Srivastava, the Administrative Judge of Sonebhadra District, as the Chief Guest and presided over by Most Rev. Louis Mascarenhas, Chairman of Nazareth Hospital. The Guests of Honour included Dr. Ashu Pandey, Chief Medical Officer of Prayagraj, and Sr. Lata CSN, Provincial Superior of the Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth.

The celebration began with a serene Prayer Dance setting a spiritual tone for the evening. This was followed by the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing hope and enlightenment. The administrator Rev. Fr. Isidore D’Souza welcomed the dignitaries, guests and well wishers to the cultural extravaganza.

The cultural program featured a series of captivating performances. A highlight was Maha Kumbh: The Eternal Confluence, a grand depiction of the spiritual and cultural significance of the Maha Kumbh Mela, showcasing its deep-rooted traditions and universal message of unity and devotion. This mesmerizing performance drew loud applause from the audience, reflecting the grandeur of Prayagraj’s heritage.

Other performances included a powerful skit, “Hands That Heal,” emphasizing the critical role of nurses in healthcare, and an energetic Bollywood Dhamaka, which added a vibrant, contemporary flair to the event. The dances on the themes of Cyber security, Environmental Preservation and Organ donation kept everyone spellbound with carry-home messages. The Visually Impaired Girls from Divya Jyoti Niketan sent a loud message of need for educating the less fortunate children with their rhythmic feet. The cultural fusion depicted unity in diversity with rich culture.

In his address, Justice Srivastava commended Nazareth Hospital for its unwavering commitment to healthcare and community service over nearly five decades. The Chairman, Most Rev. Louis Mascarenhas, also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the hospital’s rich legacy and its continued mission to serve humanity with compassion and excellence.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the prestigious Nightingale Award 2024 to two exemplary nurses: Preeti Arya, Staff Nurse, and Rashmi Munda, ANM Nurse, in recognition of their outstanding dedication and contributions to patient care.

The event concluded with Dr. Prashant Tripathi proposing a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the day.

Nazareth Hospital’s 49th Foundation Day was a perfect blend of cultural celebration and recognition of service, leaving the audience inspired and united in spirit.
