‘One country one ration card’ will be implemented in the whole country from June 1
New Delhi, Feb 07 (HS): The government said in Parliament on Friday that under the ‘One nation, one ration card’ scheme, one ration card will be implemented in the entire country from June 1.
This scheme is currently applicable in 12 states. Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, during the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha said those living below the poverty line should take ration anywhere.
‘One Country One Ration Card’ scheme will be implemented from June 1. Paswan said that after the implementation of the National Food Security Act in 11 states in 2013, now all the states have come under its purview.
He said that in the next phase of this scheme, the government took the initiative to issue a single ration card for the entire country on January 1 in 12 states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala Karnataka, Rajasthan, Haryana, Tripura Goa, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh).
