Police vehicle transporting female inmates, cops scorched in fire; no injuries

Lucknow, 30 April (HS): A vehicle transporting nine female inmates and 14 female police women from the Lucknow District Jail to the court caught fire outside the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, according to authorities. They reported that all of the passengers were successfully evacuated, but the police vehicle was completely burnt. The event occurred in front of Raj Bhavan’s gate number 14, which caused alarm among onlookers. Ram Kumar Rawat, Hazratganj Fire Station Officer, stated that two fire tenders were dispatched to the scene upon receiving information, and the fire was extinguished within 15 minutes. According to Rawat, the driver noticed sparks coming from around the battery in the bus, which caused the vehicle to come to a stop and detainees and security personnel’s to be removed.
