Poster making competition held on National Unity day at SHUATS
Prayagraj: National Unity Day is observed on 31st October every year in India. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India. National Unity day was organized jointly by Christian College of Nursing and National Service Scheme (NSS), SHUATS and various activities were done by the nursing students. The programme was led by Ms. Deepika Singh in coordination with Mr. Samuel Abhishek Anderson, SNA Advisor. In the morning session essay writing and poster making competition was organized and 128 students actively participated and given their best contribution. In the afternoon, the event started with the opening prayer by Mrs. Leena Pravil John.
Mr. Satyam Kumar Kesari, Deputy Coordinator, NSS, SHUATS briefed the objectives and role of NSS in the society. Dr. Sheeja Mathew, Principal, Christian College of Nursing given a motivational message in regard of unity day celebration followed by speech by Dr. Dipak Kumar Bose, Coordinator NSS, SHUATS appreciating and highlighting the important message of the day. Dr. Neena Gupta, NSS programme officer evaluated the essay writing. The pledge of National Unity day was taken by all the students and staffs followed by the declaration of the winners in the various competition. The programme was ended by the closing prayer by Ms. Reena Masih.
