Prayagraj District Administration to immerse the idols of Durga Maa in the pond of Andhawa-Jhunsi is not acceptable to the puja committee

Prayagraj. Reacting to the decision of the district administration to immerse the idols of Durga Maa in the dirty waters of Andhawa-Jhunsi, Mr. PK Rai and Mr. Yogendra Pandey say that it is in violation of the order of the Hon’ble Allahabad High Court.

It is noted that in 2014, that a Public Interest Litigation (PIL No. 4003/2006), Re Ganga vs State of UP & PIL No 54733/15 Pranav Kumar Rai vs State UP, Order dated 05.10.2015 In the Ganga on the banks of the Ganges, 130.40 meters X 7 foot depth, 6 boats with full protection, parking road, pandal, electricity and sufficient clean water should be provided.
But last year, the District Administration had immersed the idol in the Andhawa-Jhunsi pond citing flood as the major reason. Advocate Vijay Chandra Srivastava sent a letter to the Chief Secretary and District Magistrate, Prayagraj, requesting that the idol immersion be fixed at the place where the High Court order was sent by e-mail for the immersion of Durga idols in sequence with the order of the Allahabad High Court.
A contempt petition has also been made in favor of the Chief Secretary, District Magistrate, Prayagraj, ADM City, Prayagraj as Advocate Shri Vijay Chandra Srivastava and Sunita Sharma on behalf of Mr. PK Rai and Mr. Yogendra Kumar Pandey has been filed in the Allahabad High Court.
