Prayagraj: SHUATS signs MoU with NovosEdge to enhance crop growth with high yield

Prayagraj: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed between SHUATS and NovosEdge, a start-up company founded by Mr. Shashwat Raj and Mr. Shashi Ranjan in the year 2023. It is an innovative agritech start-up focused on revolutionizing agriculture through advanced IoT based solutions to enhance crop growth with high yield.  AgriDoot, one of their flagship products offers farmers, data-driven insights, precision farming tools, and expert guidance to optimize crop production and enhance agricultural outcomes. This represents a paradigm shift in traditional agricultural practices, aiming to make farming more sustainable, efficient, and productive. It is a multisensory IoT device strategically installed in farmlands, collecting real-time crop-specific atmospheric and soil parameter datasets. These datasets are then forwarded to a dedicated cloud server, where proprietary algorithms analyse them in reference to crop stage and microclimatic forecasts. The outcome provides valuable insights, including pest predictions and crop growth stage-specific actionable suggestions to farmers throughout the entire crop production cycle. NovosEdge innovative approach signifies in leveraging technology for the betterment of the agricultural industry.

SHUATS Director IPC Prof. Derrick M. Denis along with the team initiated the talks with the company for the installation of the IoT and sensor based tower in the farm of SHUATS. The tower will receive real time data over their Agridoot app and provide valuable suggestions to the farmers for soil health, irrigation, disease detection etc. The data will be communicated in multiple regional languages. Presently SHUATS is involved in providing 5G based technologies to start-ups so as to fine tune and validate their technology. This technology will be helpful to farmers all over the country.

SHUATS professionals are providing the basic data sets for 158 agricultural products including cereals, fruits, vegetables and spices with the emphasis on promoting highly economical exotic variant of fruits and vegetables. This technology can be used by the farmers, FPOs, FPCs, government organisations, students, scientists and researchers all over the country and the world. Any individual can Geo-tag their field/farm and will receive soil, water, plant and climate information during and between satellite pass.

This is an effort of the SHUATS VC Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra B. Lal to train the students to evolve, adopt, practice and propagate the latest technologies available worldwide. This will help the farmers to have a better control on the prevalent situation and help in decision making. The overall effort it to get high price for all the produce of the farmer and increase the income of the farmers.
