Priest beaten to death, 3 arrested in UP

Deoria, 1 May (HS): Police claimed on Wednesday that a priest from a temple in this village was beaten to death with sticks after getting into a confrontation with several people about loud music. The incident occurred on Tuesday night in Tenuba Chaubey hamlet, and three people were imprisoned as a result, according to authorities. Ashok Chaubey (60) was attacked with sticks by other people after an incident over DJ (music) playing, according to Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma.

 According to SP, Chaubey was transported to the medical college and proclaimed dead. Three people, including Hausla Paswan, have been detained, he said. A police force has been stationed in the village and at the shrine to prevent any untoward incidents, he added. The officer stated that a thorough investigation into the situation is now ongoing.
