Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) yet again comes forward to help the citizens of India during pandemic irrespective of religion. More than 2 lakh volunteers out in the streets to help and guide.
According to the Hindu calendar, Pratipada is the first day of New Year which incidentally was on 25 March. On this very day, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Mohan Bhagwat gave an interview, in which he took Sankalp on account of RSS to assist the Indian government and the poor. This interview was just after the announcement of the lockdown of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

RSS is one of the biggest private organizations of India which independently works solely for the welfare of the people. RSS has a vast history to help people in times of natural calamity like floods, earthquakes, epidemic, etc. There are many branches of RSS that take the responsibility to help the poor. Some of them are:
Arogya Bharti aides the poor by Ayurvedic and Homeopathic treatment
National Medicos treats the poor by means of Allopathy
Seva Bharti provides help in the slum.
Chief of every branch has met the Central Health Minister Dr. Harshavardhan and asked for permission to help the poor with instruction given by Health Authorities.
How RSS is helping:-
More than 70,000 shakhas across all over India with the capacity 2lakh Swayamsevak is on the streets. Volunteers of RSS are going to different parts of the society, finding out the needy and providing them food kit (ration). Food kit contains wheat, flour, rice, salt and oil. Volunteers of RSS have also started home delivery to fulfill the requirement of the poor. Besides food kit volunteers of RSS also distributing soaps with a demonstration of how to use it. Some are still unaware of the situation, its seriousness and precaution that are to be taken during this pandemic. To fulfill the requirements of everyone, RSS has also launched Utkarsh Application(App) and asking people to install through which anyone can order things online and RSS volunteers will deliver the thing.

Seva Bharti of RSS is producing masks and distributing it for free to the poor people. After the government has made the mask necessary for everyone, Seva Bharti has taken the responsibility to distribute masks to the needy. Arogya Bharti Organization and National Medicos Organization are creating awareness between those who have diabetes and heart-related issues. Free treatment is also provided to the people who are not able to go out for medical treatment during lockdown. While taking care of the poor at Delhi RSS is also helping sex workers of GB road and till now 250 food kits have given to them.

Arun Anand, chief of Indraprastha Vishwa Samwad Kendra, says RSS is executing all this movement very silently because the principal of RSS is to stay away from Manch, Mala and Mike. All this movement is underway according to instruction of Health Authorities including RSS do not want to make any fuzz about it as it may lead to violation of the lockdown.
RSS takes up moring shakhas online:
Arun Anand says RSS has never stopped to conducting daily assembly of shakhas after removal of ban but in this pandemic, RSS has asked their volunteer not to conduct daily public assembly of shakhas. Some volunteer has found a solution to this problem and is conducting online assembly it is like a revolution in RSS.
