Recovery of Ganja from the possession of 02 culprits by RPF Staff of Puri

On the night of 03.08.2021, while Officer’s & Staff [ASI J.M.Sundray & other’s] of RPF Post Puri, were engaged for performing train escorting duty in train No.02801 [Purushottam Express] from Puri, detained 02 male person’s along with “Ganja” weighing about-7.8 Kgs [value about Rs-78000/-], which was kept in two bags, from Coach No.S-6 [Sleeper Class], Seat No.65, PNR No.6355165028. On interrogation they gave out their identity as Chittranjan Pradhan & Ajoya Ku Nayak, both are from Satyabadi area, Sakhigopal, Dist-Puri [Odisha]. Both the detained person’s were carrying above contraband items unlawfully, so RPF Officer seized the recovered items and arrested them under the provisions of NDPS Act. As at that time the above train was approaching Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Hence after completion of legal formalities, both the arrested accused handed over to GRPs Bhubaneswar and a Case No.62/2021, dated-04.09.2021, u/s-20 [b] [ii] [B] NDPS registered against them and today both the arrested accused forwarded before the Hon’ble Court of SDJM for further legal action.
