SHUATS Christmas Jalsa celebrated with zeal & joy

Prayagraj: The grand Christmas Jalsa of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences was celebrated at Yeshu Darbar Church premises on Saturday with zeal & joy. On this auspicious event a series of cultural programmes were performed by the students to proclaim the kingdom of God.  Due to Covid-19 guidelines the programme was broadcasted on you tube.

Bishop Most Rev. Prof. Rajendra B. Lal said that the purpose of Jesus Christ’s coming to earth was to make mankind in the image and likeness of God so that man would also be sinless and walk on the path of truth. He shared the words of Bible that Jesus has said that who ever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life. Bishop Lal said that Jesus is not God of any one community He has come to the earth through holy spirit for the salvation of mankind, this is the greatest gospel which is celebrated in whole world.. Therefore, we should bring the word of God into our lives only then we will be blessed. At the end, while paying homage to the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other soldiers in the accident, he prayed to God for the peace of everyone’s soul.

SHUATS Chancellor Dr. J.A. Olivor gave Christmas greetings to everyone and appreciated the cultural activities presented by the school children and SHUATS students. He said that the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth to free man from sins. He described the birth of Jesus Christ as good news for the whole world.

Dr. Sudha Lal, Vice President of Yeshu Durbar Church encouraged all the children and distributed gifts to them. On this occasion, white pigeons were flown as a symbol of peace and colorful balloons were flown to express happiness.

On the occasion University choir presented a song Aaya Hai Yeshu Aaya Hai followed by a Christian song. Sunday school children staged a play on the birth of Jesus and shared that Jesus Christ is the Son of God whoever believes in Him will be saved. Children of Ford School presented a dance. The students of B.Ed gave a dance performance on the Christmas song, Khushkhabri Ko Na Thukrao. Children of Naini Christian Inter College performed a Christian song Charahahe Naache Jhoom Ke. The students of Sneha Ashram also danced and Yeshu Darbar choir presented a devotional song Masiha Aaya Jami Par Khushi Hoti hai. At last everyone participated in the community lunch with social distance.

On this occasion Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. S B Lal, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. AKA Lawrence, Pro Vice Chancellor (PMD) Prof. Rev. Sarvjit Herbert, Mrs. Indira Oliver, Registrar Prof. Robin L. Prasad, Treasurer S.K. Nath, Director IPC. Prof. Jonathan A. Lal, Joint Director (HRM) Er. Abhilasha Lal etc. were present.
