SJC Kids Fest 2024: Big Flight of Little Wings

Prayagraj. In the year 2024, all the programs organized in the college had a different kind of grandeur, where all the programs carried themselves forward traditionally. Taking forward the tradition of one of those programs, Kids Fest 2024 was organized today on 7th December 2024 at Saint Joseph College Prayagraj.

Adding further to the grandeur of the program, three chief guests in today’s program were Rev. Father Reginald D’Souza, Principal of Saint Peter’s School and College Raebareli, Rev. Father Vipin D’Souza, Director of Nazareth Hospital Prayagraj and Rev. Father Jacob Bona D’Souza, Principal of Saint Mary’s School Mirzapur.
Apart from these, Justice Mr. Anish Kumar Gupta, Rev. Father Lawrence Fernandes, Rev. Father George, Principal Rev. Father Walter D’Silva, Middle School Coordinator Rev. Father Gladwin Fernandes, Headmaster Rev. Father Melvin Paes, Additional Administrator Mr. A. Magan and Chief Coordinator Mr. Jyoti Dubey were also present. All the dignitaries including Chief Guest Rev. Father Reginald D’Souza, Chief Guest Rev. Father Vipin D’Souza, Chief Guest Rev. Father Jacob Bona D’Souza, Rev. Father Lawrence Fernandes, Principal Rev. Father Walter D’Silva, Middle School Coordinator Rev. Father Gladwin Fernandes, Headmaster Rev. Father Melvin Paes, Additional Administrator Mr. A. Magan and Chief Coordinator Mr. Jyoti Dubey came to the stage.
Chief Guest Rev. Father Reginald D’Souza is currently working as the Principal of Saint Peter’s School and College, Raebareli. He has also been the Director of Nazareth Hospital, Prayagraj. He has made incomparable contributions in the field of both education and medicine.

Chief Guest Rev. Father Vipin D’Souza is presently working as the Director of Nazareth Hospital, Prayagraj. He has also worked as the Vice Principal of Saint Joseph College, Prayagraj. His contribution in the field of medicine is highly commendable.
Chief Guest Rev. Father Jacob Bona D’Souza is presently working as the Principal of Saint Mary School, Mirzapur. He is also the former Vice Principal of Saint Joseph College, Prayagraj. He has made significant contributions in the field of education.
While starting the program, a video was shown which depicted the highly successful and highly commendable Kids Fest of last year. After this, the prayer song was sung by the students of class UKGF. Just like a small plant grows into a huge tree in the future, similarly these small children too will touch great heights in the future, therefore the chief guest Rev. Fr. Reginald D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Vipin D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza, Principal Rev. Fr. Walter D’Silva, Headmaster Melvin Paes, Teacher Saumya Prakash and student Daksh Raj Talwar symbolically planted the saplings and Headmaster Milvin Paes presented saplings to all the dignitaries. Starting the presentations, an exhibition titled “Porque nos encanta bailar” was presented by the students of Class 1A and Class 1B. Later, students of class LKGB explained the importance of grandparents in a person’s life through their presentation on “Timeless Treasure: Our Grandparents” which brought a smile on the faces of all present in the gathering. Students of class 1E and class 1F showed the importance of good health through their wonderful performance “Step it up for fitness”. Students of class LKGC and class UKGC made the event more beautiful with their wonderful performance “Faire La Fete”.
Chief Guest Rev. Father Vipin D’Souza while addressing all the dignitaries, Principal of the school and all the parents said that he is very happy to be present here today. He also appreciated the excellent performance of the little children. He further said that activity based education is the main need of today’s society. At the same time, he praised the teachers of the school and said that they are educating the children with a lot of love, patience and dedication. He also motivated the parents and said that the school and all of you should together build the character of the children and take them to the heights of success. After which the Principal Rev. Walter D’Silva presented a memento to the chief guest Rev. Father Vipin D’Souza.

Continuing the series of presentations, the students of class 1G and class 1H presented “Fun Toons in Rhythm”, the students of class LKGF and class UKGB presented “The Kiddie Sports Bash”, the students of class LKGE and class UKGE presented “Jungle Jive” and the students of class 2F and class 2G presented “Plant Today, Breathe Tomorrow”. The students of class 2F and class 2G showed the importance of trees and plants very well in their presentation.
While addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Rev. Father Jacob Bona de Souza said that he is feeling proud to be in the school. He said that he saw extraordinary talent along with creativity in the children. It is possible that this was the first performance of many of these children but they presented with great self-confidence and determination. He also praised the efficient leadership of the teachers wholeheartedly. While giving a message to the parents, he said that you should guide your children for personality development by inculcating values like honesty, hard work and dedication in them. Along with this, in this competitive era, pay attention to the hobbies, interests and habits of your children. Give them sufficient time so that they move forward on the right path. After which the headmaster Rev. Father Melvin Paes presented a memento to the chief guest Rev. Father Jacob Bona de Souza. After this, the students of class 2B and 2C performed “Panch Tatva: A Harmony of the Five”, students of class LKG and class UKG performed “Folk Fusion”, students of class 2D and class 2E performed “Sangam: A Confluence of Dances” and students of class LKGA and class UKGA performed “A Symphony of Love”.
The students of class 2B and class 2C performed “Panch Tatva: A Harmony of the Five” and depicted the five elements (earth, water, wind, fire, sky) from which the whole universe is made. They showed how beautiful this earth is and gave the message of maintaining this beauty of the earth. The students of class 2D and class 2E performed “Sangam: A Confluence of Dances” and gave a very impressive message of unity in diversity. The students of class LKGA and class UKGA showed their devoted love for their parents through their wonderful performances.
The chief guest Rev. Father Reginald D’Souza while addressing the gathering first of all congratulated the school on completion of 140 years. He compared the children to rising stars. He further said that the energy, enthusiasm and self-confidence of the children in this program was incomparable. He also appreciated the tireless efforts of the teachers. In the end he concluded his speech by advising the children to work hard and keep moving ahead. After which the Principal Rev. Walter D’Silva presented a memento to the chief guest Rev. Father Reginald D’Souza.
Continuing the series of the program, the students of class 2A and class 2H presented “Joyful Noel Melodies” and the students of class LKGD and class UKGD presented “Christmas Wonderland”. After which the vote of thanks was given by the students of different classes.
Moving towards the end of the programme, the students of class 1C and class 1D presented a presentation titled “A Tribute to the Guardians of Our Nation” and first of all paid tribute to the security forces of India for their contribution and depicted India’s victory in the Kargil war which completed 25 years this year and paid tribute to all those soldiers whose indomitable courage and bravery made India victorious.
The programme ended with the National Anthem.
