Snow Clearance Work Started on Mughal Road from Poonch side

Mughal Road to be opened Next Month DC Poonch

Poonch 21 March, (HS): Rahul Yadav Deputy Commissioner Poonch today said that within 10-15 days historic Mughal road connecting Shopian with Poonch will be opened for traffic movement.

On the direction of State Government snow clearance operations started on 84 km long Mughal Road,” Rahul said.

He said the work was started by mechanical division, “It was said that the work to clear snow from the road would take less than a month depending upon the amount of snowfall in higher reaches and landslides which usually hinder the operations.” 

He said the snow clearance work started from both Poonch and Shopian side and the department was working hard to clear snow from the road as early as possible. He said the administration would try to complete a snow clearance job early next month and the Mughal road would be officially open for the general public from next month.
