“SP’s ploy to fuel Ramcharitmanas row, an attempt to stay relevant, the opposition party had no agenda left” : Bhupinder Singh Chaudhary

Lucknow: On Tuesday, BJP Uttar Pradesh chief Bhupinder Singh Chaudhary called SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya’s statements on the Ramcharitmanas “nonsense babbling,” and argued that such remarks were made because the opposition party has no agenda left.

Maurya, the general secretary of the Samajwadi Party (SP), recently sparked outrage when he claimed that some sections in the Ramcharitmanas, a famous rendition of Tulsidas’ Ramayana, “insult” a huge segment of society on the grounds of caste and urged that the literature be banned.”There is a BJP government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in the state led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and we come to the government with a development agenda,” he added.

“We are working for the country’s and state’s growth. Because the opposition has no issue, they are engaging in ‘anargal pralaap’ (nonsense yelling),” when questioned about Maurya’s views on the Ramcharitmanas, Chaudhary responded.

On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and ‘Hath se Hath Jodo’ campaigns, and if they will have an impact on the country’s impending elections, he remarked, “In a democracy, everyone has the freedom to share his thoughts and raise his voice. They have the right to campaign, but I don’t see the Congress playing any role in Uttar Pradesh,” the state BJP president remarked.
The Uttar Pradesh leg of the Kanyakumari-Kashmir yatra, which completed on January 30 in Srinagar, included Ghaziabad, Baghpat, and Shamli. On September 7, the foot march began from the southern tip of India.

Asked about Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) president Mohan Bhagwat’s statements that caste does not exist before God and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav remarks on the caste system, Chaudhary stated the SP is the “largest casteist and ‘pariwarwadi’ party”.
“If we look into SP history, we can see that their caste and family are their top priorities. When the SP was given the opportunity to create a government, it could not go beyond caste and sect,” he said. The BJP chief stated that the SP was created in 1992 and that in 30-31 years, this party could not look beyond Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. He mentioned that Akhilesh Yadav has two uncles. Shivpal Yadav is a general secretary, he claimed, while Ram Gopal Yadav is the party’s principal general secretary.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the SP, died in October of last year. “The SP’s policies are unmistakably casteist and dynastic. They never get over the family politics. Their family, caste, and Saifai were all priority in their governance,” he stated. In response to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) head Mayawati’s charge of BJP-SP cooperation over Hindu-Muslim divides, Chaudhary stated, “Our first objective is to help the poor and vulnerable.
The BJP is not interested in caste politics. The prime minister’s resolution of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ is well known.” He also challenged the SP and other opposition parties to demonstrate any discrimination in the BJP’s beneficial initiatives at the national or state levels.”Whatever measures were implemented by their (opposition) regimes, only a subset of society benefited. There is no prejudice in any of our projects, and the government is committed to the development of the last individual via a transparent system,” he claimed.
The Uttar Pradesh BJP president endorsed the Assam BJP government’s action against child marriage “within the bounds of the law.”
