About 80% of them are getting stipend or performance-based incentives for the SIP. For the rest of the students, internal projects were allocated. Most of the projects for the Management Students are related to the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, industries, consumers, society, management. In Technology related courses like B Tech and DIT, Virtual Labs or Videos of industry situations are to be used by the students for SIP. All the students are allocated faculty guides.
Last week, all the students were trained online on how to do the Internships Online by using Marketing Research tools like Google Forms and prepare the reports. Due to the current situation, the Internship duration is reduced to one month. All the students are provided with SIP Handbook. Students have to submit SIP reports by the third week of June and Viva Voce for the same will be held in the last week of June 2020.
Addressing the press through video conference, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said, “Summer Internship is an essential and integral part of all of the programs, including BCom, at our University. It provides the much needed hands-on industry exposure to our students. We do not want our students to miss this opportunity, due to COVID-19 Pandemic and consequent delay in the conduct of End Semester Examinations. That is why we requested the industry to provide online Internship projects, which was agreed by some of the reputed companies”. “As this is the first time that our students are working on Online Projects, we trained our students on the requisite Digital Skills so that they can do the projects on line successfully”, added Prof Rao
