Tablighi Jamaat members taken to task by Yogi Government
1,203 Tablighi Jamaat members have been identified by the UP government. A total of 897 samples have been collected, out of which 47 reports have been found positive.
Intelligence information received about people who came back from Tablighi Jamaat to Sadar Bazar of Lucknow. The entire area has been sealed and every house in the area is under ongoing investigation.
Out of the total, 296 are foreign nationals who have been identified and quarantined by the UP police so far. Passports of 228 foreign nationals’ confiscated due to suspicion and visa irregularities.
The Chief Minister instructs that all banks will remain open on April 6, on the day of Mahavir Jayanti and on April 10, Good Friday.
April 3, Lucknow. On Friday’s joint press conference at the Lok Bhawan, by the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary, Health Amit Mohan Prasad The key concern was that on the Tablighi Jamaat members who have entered into UP.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home primarily mentioned that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the Delhi incident seriously. Acting on the instructions of the Chief Minister, 1203 people of Tablighi Jamaat have been identified so far out of which samples of 897 people have been sent to labs for testing. So far, 47 people have been reported to be positive. He said that information was received about people who went to Tablighi Jamaat came to Sadar Bazar, in Lucknow. Knowing this the police has swung into action after which the entire area has been sealed and every house is under ongoing investigation.
On the concern of the pensioners, the Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that a two-month pension amount has been sent to the accounts of more than 86 lakh pensioners. A total of t Rs 871 crore 46 lakh has been sent to the accounts of the pensioners. We were also informed that the Chief Minister has also interacted with the pensioners of several districts like Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and others through video conferencing. At the same time, the Chief Minister has appealed to the citizens of the state to cooperate with the state government during the lockdown.
Awanish Kumar Awasthi further said that 296 foreign nationals have been identified and most of them have been quarantined by the state police. Apart from this, the action is being taken for violating visa rules against 228 foreign nationals by seizing their passports. 32 FIRs have been registered against these foreign nationals in 16 districts. The Chief Minister has directed that all DMs, SPs must monitor quarantine centers themselves. In case of any kind of mismanagement regarding the quarantine centers, they will be held responsible.
The press was also informed that the banks will remain open on two public holidays Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday i.e. 6th and 10th of April. The Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that the Chief Minister has instructed to campaign against black marketing and profiteering. For this, all DMs and SPs have been instructed for monitoring. He said that so far action has been taken against 129 people in the state by registering 91 FIRs on charges of black marketing and profiteering.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that after the Supreme Court order, it has been decided to release the juvenile offenders on the instructions of the Chief Minister. He said that a decision has been taken to release 248 children. So far 9137 criminals have been released on bail and parole in the state. Apart from this, to strengthen law and order, the Chief Minister has directed the DGP to make extensive use of drones.
172 cases so far in the state, increase on account of Tablighi Jamaat: Principal Secretary Health
Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that 172 cases have been reported so far in the state. There were 121 cases till Thursday. Till Friday, 51 new cases have been reported, 47 of them were associated with the Tablighi Jamaat. These 47 people were identified in 14 districts. These 14 districts are Ghaziabad, Agra, Kanpur, Shamli, Jaunpur, Saharanpur, Meerut, Hapur, Hardoi, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Firozabad, Pratapgarh and Shahjahanpur.
Principal Secretary Health said that a total of 3583 samples have been collected so far of which 3264 sample reports have been negative. A report of 172 cases have been found positive. The state, testing is being done in 8 labs in which 459 samples have been tested. Jhansi lab will also start soon. Apart from this, it has also been decided to take the help of private labs.
