Meerut: In Meerut district, police have heightened vigilance after a clash between youths of different communities who had come for having dinner at a hotel located on Sardhana-Binauli road in Sardhana area. As a precautionary measure, the police took out a flag march in the city and appealed to the people of the city to maintain peace. In fact, late on Thursday night, half a dozen youths of Thakur fraternity from Akkhepur village had come in a car to eat food at Hotel Alkarim located on Sardhana-Binauli road of the city. At the same time, a dozen youths of the Muslim community, residents of Nangla Road in the city, were having food at the hotel. It is alleged that while parking the car of the youth of Akhepur, the bullet of the youth collided with the bike. After which both the sides got abusive. Soon there was a bloody fight on both the sides. After the incident, the youth of Akhepur started running away to save their lives by fleeing in their car. It is alleged that Muslim youths started chasing the car on their bullet bikes with the intention of attacking. At the same time, cops who reached on the information also rushed to stop the accused. The police tried hard and stopped people from both sides in front of the police station. After this, the police took a dozen youths from both the sides into custody. The police have registered cases against more than two dozen youths from both the sides under serious sections. On the other hand, on Friday, the police conducted a flag march in the city and to keep heightened vigilance.
