The Indian Army launches ” Operation Namaste” to defeat the Coronavirus

A huge round of applause for our Indian army during the threat of COVID 19 pandemic. Operation Namaste is the operation launched by India Army on 27 March 2020 to fight against this corona pandemic. This operation is launched by the Army Chief Manoj Mukund Narvane. After becoming army chief it is his first major operation launched under him to aid the corona warriors.

Steps taken by the Indian Army:

Out of 28 army hospitals 19 have been given for public welfare to aide coronacirus victims (COVID-19). It was the first step the Indian Army took. It was the Armed Force Medical Services who gave suggestion to Indian Government to make train coaches as quarantine centre. Working on this unique suggestion, Health Ministry has prepared more than 1 crore medical beds. The Indian Army has created 9 quarantine centre of about 200-300 capacity to aid corona victims till now 1463 have been rescued and quarantined. The Indian Army is ready to provide assistance to their neighborhood. The Indian Army is also ready to provide a rapid response team to Nepal to deal with pandemic as it helped the Maldives.

Corona in Indian Army:

Indian Army is not untouched from the pandemic. First case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the Indian Army only. The member is identified as a 34 year old soldier from Laddakh Scout, an infantry regiment of the Indian Army known as ‘Snow Warrior’. This member got infected because his father came from a foreign visit. The Indian Army is the fourth largest army and India is the second-most populous country after China. Extreme precaution is being taken by the Indian Army to avoid getting infected as it could damage the Indian security.

History of Indian Army in Crisis:Indian Army has launched many operations before Operation Namaste. In 2013, more than 5 lakh people were rescued in Kedarnath flood and whole world applauded the Indian Army for this it was one of world biggest rescue operation. Many rescue operation has been successfully executed by Indian Army and this time also Army Chief has assured that Indian Army will get success in ‘Operation Namaste’.


Financial help by Indian Army:

Indian Army released it’s IL38 aircraft to take 60000 mask requested by Indian Medical Association from Delhi to Goa. Indian Army, Air Force and Navy have donated 500 Crore rupee to PM fund. Each employee of Indian Army has donated it’s one day salary to PM fund to fight against the pandemic.
