Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh legislature’s budget session is set to begin on February 20. During the week-long session, the Yogi Adityanath government’s second budget for the second term is anticipated to be introduced in the state legislature. According to reports here on Tuesday, the Yogi Adityanath cabinet accepted by circulation the proposal to summon the Legislature session on February 20. Governor Anandiben Patel will address the Legislature’s joint session on the first day. Following that, the House would be adjourned due to the death of Apna Dal MLA Rahul Prakash Kol. State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna is expected to make budget plans for the fiscal year 2023-24 on February 21. In preparation for the next Lok Sabha elections, the government may offer a budget of around Rs 7 lakh crore, with an emphasis on youth, farmers, women, and infrastructure development. In the budget proposal, the government would also address the problems raised by the BJP’s Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra. The Opposition, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to raise a variety of concerns during the session, including the Ramcharitmanas dispute, the call for a caste census, and clarity from the government on growing prices and unemployment.
