UP “competent and ready” to become India’s growth engine: Prez

Lucknow: President Droupadi Murmu praised the Uttar Pradesh government for successfully hosting the Global Investors Summit on Sunday, saying the state is “competent and ready” to become India’s economic engine.President Murmu said at the valedictory session of the Global Investors Summit here that she was pleased that so many countries shown interest in the growth and development of Uttar Pradesh. “Uttar Pradesh, which has the most population, also has the highest economic contribution in the country. I am grateful to the state’s farmers and business people for their efforts. UP is ‘saksham’ (competent) and ‘taiyar’ (ready) to be India’s growth engine “Murmu said. She stated that, after the success of the last investors conference in 2018, the latest meeting was held on a massive scale.Murmu arrived in Lucknow earlier this morning on a two-day tour. She will attend a civic banquet organised in her honour by the Uttar Pradesh government at Lok Bhavan. The president will be in Lucknow on Monday to attend the 10th convocation of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. She will visit the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple and attend a “Ganga Aarti” in Varanasi before returning to Delhi.
