Special focus on Kashi in budget; Ayodhya also on the agenda

Rs 500 crore for construction of proposed airport in Ayodhya

18 February, Lucknow In the budget, the Yogi government has given special attention to Kashi, the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A provision of Rs 200 crore has been made for beautification and expansion of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. Similarly, provision of Rs 170 crore has been made for the establishment of a cultural center in Kashi, and Rs 18 crore for the establishment of a Vedic Vigyan Kendra in Kashi Hindu University.

Apart from Kasha, Ayodhya has also received significant attention in the budget. While Rs 500 crore has been allotted for the construction of the proposed airport in Ayodhya, a provision of 85 crore has been made to provide the best basic facilities for tourists, and provision of Rs 10 crore has been made for Tulsi memorial building.

A provision of Rs 25 crore has been made in the budget for the development of water sports in Ramgarh Tal of Gorakhpur.

The budget also announced the development of 46 major tourist destinations, including Garhmukteshwar of Hapur, besides construction of heliports at important tourist places. Government has already announced to develop Garhmukteshwar on the lines of Har ki Paidi in Haridwar.
