In this deadly epidemic, an organization that is protecting the rights of every citizen is the National Human Rights Commission in India. NHRC is ensuring the protection of fundamental rights as well as essential Commodity of every person. The main focus of NHRC is to fulfill the need of the beggar, labor, etc. This statutory body is advising and guiding the government that how to tackle this pandemic without violating any human rights.
What is NHRC? National Human Rights Commission is a statutory body established in 12 Oct 1993 it is a constitutional body that does not come directly under government. NHRC is a statutory body that can only advise the government and it was based on the Public Health Right Act 1993 later it got amended in 2006 and was named Public Health Right Amendment Act. NHRC has the power to establish a state unit of the Human Rights Commission. NHRC is adopted from the Paris principal of the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights 1991. Paris Principal is endorsed by the UN general assembly in 1993.
Work by NHRC in Corona Pandemic: NHRC has given the recommendation to the central government on public rights and has to ask the central government to issue advisory in states and union territories. Some strict measures recommended by NHRC are

1. Implement lockdown without violating the human rights of a beggar, poor, labors, and vendors. 2. NHRC has asked the ministry of home affairs to address street ill people. People who can not afford to go hospital and unaware about the situation should be checked and cease to spread the virus with standard treatment. NHRC has asked for this advisory because there was some information that the public servant is dealing with people very harshly and targeting the poor people. NHRC considered that for public servants it is very tough to deal with such a huge population and can lead to mental stress but it is the responsibility of public servants to deal with everyone in a sensible manner. Kerala has controlled the corona cases because Kerala’s literacy rate is very high and it is an advantage there but in north India literacy rate is low which is making job tough.NHRC through advisory ensures the public servants behave in a sensible manner with people of vulnerable sections, respecting human rights relating to life, liberty and dignity.
