March 24, Lucknow In view of the rising number of infections by the Corona virus, and its debilitating effect on the unorganized sector, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday launched the ‘Shramik Bharan-Poshan Yojana’ and sent the first installment of Rs 1000 in the accounts of more than 20 lakh daily wage labourers through DBT. On the occasion, he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has made arrangements for providing relief to the daily wage labourers. The Chief Minister said that our government is giving a maintenance allowance of Rs.1000 to street vendors, rickshaw pullers, e-Rickshaw drivers and porters. The department of urban development has been authorized for this.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed a symbolic cheque of Rs 1,000 to four workers. Following the outbreak of Coronavirus, the employment of people has been affected due to social distancing and home quarantine and because of which this arrangement is being made, the CM said.
He said that the government is providing free ration to Antyodaya ration card holders, destitute old age pension holders, PwD pensioners, construction workers and daily wage workers. Under this, 20 kg of wheat and 15 kg of rice have been provided to them. The CM further said that those who will be deprived of it in rural and urban areas and are not covered under any scheme are also being provided assistance of Rs. 1000. For this, all the District Magistrates have been instructed and sufficient funds have been sent to all the districts.
