India’s Nightingale Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeskar makes her eternal flight

Lata Mangeshkar, known as India’s Nightingale, died on the morning of 6 February 2022, Sunday, the day after Basant Panchami i.e. Saraswati Puja, the day Maa Saraswati is immersed. She was 92 years old , but the void that she created in the world of playback singing will not be filled soon.

All her organs stopped functioning on Sunday morning and she breathed her last breadth at 8.12 am at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She has been cremated at Shivaji Park with full state honors. Her mortal remains was kept at her residence at Peddar Road from 12.30 pm to 3 pm. After that it was kept at Shivaji Park for the public to pay their homage to the departed soul from 4.30 pm onwards.

On 8 January 2022, she showed mild symptoms of corona.She was being treated at Breach Candy Hospital. She was admitted in the ICU of the hospital where she was treated by Dr. Pratima Samdani and her team. Her health showed signes of improvement in between. But last week suddenly her health started deteriorating again. She was put on ventilator in the morning on 5 February 2022, the day of Basant Panchami.

Earlier she was diagnosed with pneumonia which the doctors informed that it got cured on January 30, she won her battle against corona and pneumonia.

In November 2019, Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the same hospital after she complained of breathlessness. Even then she had pneumonia and after 28 days she came home after recovering but this time destiny had something else in mind. By snatching away all of us, Lata ji, who is called the Queen of Melody, Nightingale of India, destiny gave a big blow in early 2022 itself.
