No going back on CAA as it was in national interest: PM

Varanasi, February 16 (HS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday removed all doubts and made it clear that the CAA was in the interest of the nation and that he would stand by it.

Addressing a meeting hereafter unveiling Deen Dayal Upadhyay statue and flagging off Varanasi-Indore Mahakaal Express, he said, he would also see to it that development reached the last man in the queue. His government has accorded topmost priority to Dalits and the other poor in the country.
The emphasis was laid on health and education and it was for this reason that a number of schemes for these two sectors were launched today. Focus also was on cleanliness.
A number of wellness centers have come up in the eastern region of the state and for this, he thanked the government in the state. With the completion of new health schemes, UP will become a medical hub. He mentioned some of the schemes in this connection.
The tourism industry, particularly religious tourism, can offer thousands of jobs to the needy and, therefore, it should become a focus area. It will also play a big role in the country becoming a five trillion dollar economy.
Earlier, he had offered prayers at the Jangamwadi Math and said it was “a great privilege to come at the confluence of culture and Sanskriti”. Referring to Veerashaiva tradition, he said, the word Veera is defined spiritually. “The one who has risen above the spirit of opposition is Veershaiva”. 
Work on projects worth Rs 7000 crores have been completed under the Namami Gange project. Projects underway are being completely speedy to avoid cost overruns.
