Opposition should not be in any confusion, now days of doom will not arrive: Chief Minister

26 February, Lucknow Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath aggressively attacked the opposition at the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday. The CM said that in the name of Citizenship Amendment Act, efforts are being made to create chaos in the country and the state. “The energy of the administrative machinery which should be involved with the work of development, is being diverted. Efforts are being made to block the development of the state. An attempt is being made to tarnish the image of the country,” he said. He said that the opposition should not be in any confusion, now the days of doom will not arrive.

The Chief Minister said that those who are thinking of indulging in arson, violence and taking the law captive in the name of CAA, they should know that this will never happen. “We will give security to everyone,” he said. The CM said that CAA is the law to grant citizenship. “It was created by the Congress government. Only one modification has been done in it. The time limit for granting citizenship has been reduced from 11 years to five years,” he said. Calling the opposition’s attitude towards CAA as irresponsible, he said that the opposition, in the name of CAA, is creating confusion among the people. “This is an irreparable loss to the society and a fraud with the Constitution of the country. The coming generations will never forgive them for this act,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that children were dying from encephalitis for the last 40 years. “There were 38 districts in the entire Terai belt from Kushinagar to Saharanpur that were suffering from this disease. The previous governments had no time to solve the issue. 90 per cent of the children who died from the disease were from Dalit and minority communities. No one spoke on this. Those who have a tendency towards five star culture, how would they understand the suffering of a poor and a Dalit. I was raising this issue when I was an MP and even today, I am speaking about it as the Chief Minister,” he said.

Till last year, our government has been able to reduce the outbreak of encephalitis by 56% and has reduced the death toll by 81%.

The Chief Minister said that wherever our youth got an opportunity, they showcased their talent. “But previous governments deprived them of proper facilities and opportunities. In the name of providing jobs, people used to extort money. Our government has done 1, 37,000 recruitments in Uttar Pradesh Police alone. The entire recruitment process has been done in a transparent manner and none of the recruitments could be questioned. In addition, our government has successfully provided government jobs to over 2, 75,000 youth,” he said.

He said that the previous governments had confined the state, the result of which was a budget of only three lakh crore rupees was presented in 2015-16 for 23 crore population of the state. With good intentions, our government has been successful in raising the budget of the state to Rs 5 lakh 12 thousand 860 crore. This is the positive approach of the government. The state’s budget has become a symbol of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas , Sabka Vishwas’, the Chief Minister further said.

The Chief Minister said that the benefits of public welfare schemes of the government are being provided to every section of the society without any discrimination. Along with infrastructural development and industrial investment, the concept of the overall development of the state is being fulfilled as a result of which we have witnessed the newness in every field in the last three years. A belief has awakened in people’s minds.
