Suburban train services in Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division will be severely disrupted for about a week
Kolkata,10 February (HS) Suburban train services in Eastern Railway’s Sealdah Division will be severely disrupted for about a week from today because of the urgent non-interlock work in connection with the commissioning of Automatic Signalling system in the Division. Expressing sincere regrets for causing tremendous inconveniences to a large number of passengers, Eastern Railway Chief Public Relations Manager Sanjay Banerjee told Hindusthan Samachar here today that as a result of the urgent but time-bound work, over 100 trains would either be cancelled, short terminated or might run via diverted routes. The work might continue till the evening of 16 February, he said replying to a query. Among major trains which would be cancelled or short terminated during the period were Sealdah–Kalyani Simanta locals, Sealdah–Naihati locals, Kalyani Simanta–Sealdah locals, Naihati–Sealdah locals, Sealdah-Ranaghat locals and Krishnanagar–Sealdah locals. Among the trains which would be short terminated were Sealdah–Naihati locals and Naihati–Budge locals at Barrackpore instead of Naihati, the sources said adding 12 other trains would also be diverted through other routes.
