Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu wins Miss Universe 2021 title
Yet again an Indian woman proves that they are the most beautiful and most intelligent woman in the world. Yes you heard me right India’s Harnaaz Sandhu was officially declared Miss Universe 2021. India’s Harnaaz Sandhu is an actor and a model. She brings home (India) the Miss Universe title after 21 years. In the year 2000 the graceful Lara Dutta had won the title. Beautiful ladies from 80 countries participated in the grand event at the beautiful city of Eilat, in Israel. In the Miss Universe contest Miss Paraguay Nadia Ferreira held the first runner –up position and Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane got the second runners up position.
Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza, presented Harnaaz the crown as her successor.
The 70th annual Miss Universe competition was hosted by the ever green comedian Steve Harvey. Before the final moments a round of swim suit and evening gown segment was held which also includes interview portion for each contestant.
Israeli singer and international pop star Noa Kirel also delivered a performance at the pageant, which had a focus on the climate crisis as part of a green agenda that corresponds with the values of Israel.
The competition was a historic one, as it marked the first time that a delegate from the United Arab Emirates has ever competed and the first time in over four decades that Miss Universe Morocco has returned to the pageant.
The grand Miss Universe 2021 was held seven months after Meza earned the 2020 title in May 2021. The delay was due to the Covid 19 pandemic crisis.
Miss Universe 2021 was a thrilling event for Israeli Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov as he was thrilled to welcome the grand event in the ingoing covid crisis.
“Despite the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic placed in our path, we knew how to maintain the balance between health and the economy, to bring tourism back to Israel,” Razvozov said. “We needed to create tourism anchors that will promote and present Israel to the world as a vaccination nation that invites tourists to visit. The Miss Universe pageant is, without [a] doubt, an important and significant anchor of this plan.”
Question and answer session:
India’s Harnaaz Sandhu was asked question by Miss Reena about climate change she asked “ many people will think climate change is a hoax what would you do to convince them otherwise” . Harnaaz Sandhu replied “ Honestly my heart breaks to see how nature is going through a lot of problems and it is all due to our irresponsible behaviour and I totally feel that this the time to take action and talk less because our each action could either kill or save nature. Prevent and protect is better than repent and repair and this is what I am trying to convince you guys today, Thank you”.
Harnaaz Sandhu was also asked about what advice would you give to young woman watching on how to deal with the pressures they face today ? Harnaaz like a true youth champion replied “ Well I think the biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to belief in themselves. To know that you are unique and that what makes you beautiful stop comparing yourself with others and lets talk about more important things happening worldwide I think this is what you need to understand. Come out speak for yourself because you are the leader of your life you are the voice of your own, I believed in myself that is why I am standing here today, thank you.”
