Mobile ATM services for major Housing residents of big cities in India
Kolkata,28 April: In a unique and innovative way to reach their services to the doorsteps of their customers across the city as well as elsewhere in the country, a number of public and private sector banks have introduced the mobile ATM services in a number of major cities across the country including in Kolkata to help provide cash to their customers near their houses under lockdown condition.
Keeping the urgency of people, especially the old citizens, a number of public sector banks like Canara Bank, and the Punjab National Bank along with Private sector HDFC Bank has introduced a number of mobile ATM services in Kolkata and in some other selected cities of the country from today.

According to sources of all these banks, each of these three banks had launched at least five to six such mobile ATM vans in every city for visiting all major Housing Complexes in every city on a daily basis from today.
These vans would remain stationed at the entrance of each major Housing complex for about three hours from Monday to Saturday during this lockdown period to help the residents of these housing complexes and the people of nearby areas to come and withdraw cash from these mobile counters with a maximum limit of Rs 10,000 everyday from each individual account.
This mobile service would remain operative from 8 AM in the morning till 5 PM in the evening every day, the sources informed and said each day these vans were expected to cover at least three to four such housing complexes in every city till the withdrawals of the lockdown condition.
Though some bank branches were open these days and had been operating with a skeletal staff, most of the people, particularly the old and senior citizens had found it extremely difficult to withdraw cash from these to meet their day to day expenses.
Keeping their difficulties in mind we have decided to reach to their doorsteps instead of their coming to us with great difficulty when some of these branches were situated in some far off areas, the sources said adding that apart from Kolkata similar services were introduced in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Delhi too.
