Heartiest Thanks to the Prime Minister by Prof Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation for naming 24 islands after the names of Martyers.

New Delhi. Once again Sahib Thind, president of Memorial Foundation Canada demanded that the Indian Island’s names should be after our great Martyers.

In view of this demand , our prime minister Narender Modi announced to place the names of 24 islands after the names of our great Martyers.Shri Thind also mentioned that the names of 24 islands were changed but from 548 islands, many are still after the names of British officers. He said we are very thankful to the worthy Prime Minister for replacing the names of Islands from the names British officers to after the names of our great Martyers.

He further mentioned that the rest of the islands should also be named after the Martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Cellular Prison(port blaire) and the revolutionaries who were sentenced life imprisonment. The president of the foundation mentioned that it has been quarter of a century after independence but yet the names of our islands are mentioned after the name of British officials. He strongly appealed to the prime minister that we should pay tribute to our great martyrs by naming these islands after the names of them. This thing is also worth knowing that since 1990 Prof. Mohan Singh memorial Foundation had been obliged to handle the history of our great martyrs who sacrificed their precious life to make India, our country, an Independent country. Every year,a program has been organised by this Foundation at Surrey British Columbia, , Canada, in the memories of these great revolutionaries in which more than 50000 Indians participate. In the end he also demanded that to keep the history of these martyrs fresh and alive, the different revolutionary moments by these people, should be the part of the curriculum of the schools and colleges, so that our upcoming generation would be well acquainted with our history.
