State government to build 3 new universities in Saharanpur, Azamgarh and Aligarh
• Major step taken in improvement of basic, secondary and higher education
• Establishment of police forensic university in state, law university in Prayagraj and Ayush University in Gorakhpur
18 February, Lucknow In order to promote higher education, the government has made provision in the budget for setting up three new universities in Saharanpur, Azamgarh and Aligarh. Establishment of police forensic university and law university in Prayagraj is also proposed in the state. Ayush university will be built in Gorakhpur.
The Yogi government has made a provision of Rs 270 crore for the establishment of Atal residential schools in 8 divisions of the state. In the coming academic session, a target has been set to distribute free textbooks and notebooks to about 1 crore 90 lakh students.
A provision of Rs 18 thousand 363 crore has been proposed for the overall education campaign for upgrading school education at the primary and upper primary levels of the state. For the development of basic facilities in the field of higher education, a provision of Rs 111 crore has been made in the budget under the Rashtriya Uchchattar Shiksha Abhiyan.
