Woman, daughter killed by train in UP While crossing closed barrier on foot

Noida: According to authorities, a 35-year-old mother and her three-year-old daughter were killed after they were hit by a speeding train near here while crossing a restricted barrier. Soni Singh, a Ghaziabad resident, and her daughter Rajnandini de-boarded a shared tempo at the closedrailway crossing barrier at Chipiyana in the Bisrakh region about 2.30 p.m, they claimed. “As the Chipyana gate closed, the lady slowed her pace. She foolishly crossed the fence and was struck by an incoming train. The mom died on the scene, while her daughter was injured and died while receiving treatment at Manipal Hospital in Ghaziabad,” according to a police official.

According to another officer, the woman lived in Ghaziabad’s Wavecity neighbourhood and was on her way to see a relative in Chipiyana when the tragedy occurred. The remains were eventually transferred for autopsies, and the local police conducted additional legal actions, according to the source.
